LOCATION

Mondo Conservation Dive and Surf Centre is situated within Whales & Waves Beach Resort. We are a short walk of Kertasari. on the west coast of Sumbawa. Taliwang, our closest city is about 20 minutes drive away, has shops and restaurants, fish market, ATM’s flight ticket offices and a hospital.

HOW TO GET HERE

 0ption 1 – Fly from Bali or Lombok

There are daily flights from Bali (Denpasar) with ‘Lion Air’ or ‘Wings Air’ into Sumbawa Besar international airport (do not fly to Bima). Please note that late morning flights are the most popular and get booked up. We are approximately 2 hours drive from this airport and taxi’s are available (road traffic is generally light in Sumbawa compared to Bali and Lombok).

Option 2- Ferry from Lombok (or Bali)

We are also approximately 30 minutes drive from Pototano Ferry Terminal where there are car ferries from Lombok (Kayangang), which runs approximately every hour (this takes a 1.5 hours). You can travel on foot, by car or motor.

There is also the fastboat which departs from Kayangang twice a day and takes about 45 minutes. At the time of writing the ferries leave at 10am and 5pm although we would advise checking as departure times can change.

You can also get a Ferry from Bali (Padang Bai) to Lombok (Lembar) which takes around 4 hours. There are also fastboats which operate between Padang Bai and Lombok but check schedules with operators and book in advance as they are popular! Note that there are international flights between Bali (Denpasar) and Lombok (Mataram) and Java (Jakarta) and Lombok (Mataram) where you can get a taxi to Kayangang Ferry Terminal.
